GIRR diverts over 100 TONNES of waste from the Hartland Landfill on the Saanich Peninsula each year. This waste is now being reused for road construction, plastics, manufacturing, tin cans, drink bottles/cans/containers, paper, newspaper and cardboard boxes. Because of GIRR and its dedicated volunteers and supporters, extraction of natural resources such as forests, metals and fossil fuels are being reduced.
