GIRR diverts over 100 TONNES of waste from the Hartland Landfill on the Saanich Peninsula each year. This waste is now being reused for road construction,plastics,manufacturing,tin cans,drink bottles/cans/containers,paper,newspaper and cardboard boxes. Because of GIRR and its dedicated volunteers and supporters,extraction of natural resources such as forests,metals and fossil fuels are being reduced.
